Building remains open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and entry for children 15 and under is free and adults and older costs $5.


La Fortaleza is the oldest 40-room executive mansion in the western hemisphere which was used to defend against foreign invaders. It is the official governors residence with fine galleries and period furniture of the museum. Here, an ancient mahogany clock stands along one of the corridors, making the visitors paused for a while. La Fortaleza Palacio de Santa Catalina opens from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays, and guided tours are offered every weekday except holidays. Here, site entrance is free.


The Museo de las Americas is a great collection of art and anthropology relating to Puerto Rico. The museum has four permanent exhibitions with Spanish and English explanations. Here, the exhibition which is performed is an eclectic collection of traditional folk art from all over the Americas. Paintings and artwork are also exhibited time to time. Building remains closed on Monday, you can visit here at 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM from Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, and 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday.
