Griffith Observatory is a popular tourist attraction and a national leader in public astronomy which is operated by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. It is a unique hybrid of public observatory, planetarium, and exhibition space. Griffith Park Observatory is operated for the public with no admission charge.
